What the calculator includes
It compares Lisbon zapping, Carris/Metro tickets, contactless and 24-hour products with Navegante monthly passes. For Porto it compares Andante Z2–Z9 simple fares, Andante 24, Tour 1/Tour 3 and the standard 3Z, Municipal and Metropolitano passes. It also accounts for the 10+1 rule for identical Porto simple journeys.
Break-even examples
In Lisbon, four €1.90 tickets cost €7.60, so the €7.25 city 24-hour ticket is cheaper; four €1.72 zapping journeys cost €6.88, so zapping remains cheaper. In Porto, four Z2 journeys cost €5.60 against a €5.35 Andante 24; four Z3 journeys cost €7.40 against €6.85. For Z4, the €7.75 Tour 1 is cheaper than the €8.55 Andante 24.
Coverage still matters
Lisbon Municipal only works if its municipality and boundary coverage fit the journey. In Porto, zones are not stop counts, and a 3Z monthly pass is not the same as a Z3 occasional ticket. Check the operator’s official coverage tool before purchasing.
What this does not calculate
